Introduction
Photo images and related description articles of all the collections exhibited
in NPM Online are authorized by the National Palace Museum, Taipei, Taiwan.
“NPM Online” is a database application aimed at educational promotion and
academic exchanges, which is available with versions of four languages,
including traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, Japanese, and English. The
production took more than one year. Presently the Japanese version is still
under development.
Our Services
Collections exhibited in NPM Online are classified into seven
categories: painting, calligraphy, ceramics, jade, bronze, Buddhist antiques,
and rarities (stationery, tusks, woods, bones, lacquers, and silk tapestries,
etc.).

Painting
|
Presents painting collections which encompass the period from Eastern Chin
Dynasty to the end of Ch'ing Dynasty and modern era. Those bequeathed works are
classified as landscape, figure, Buddhist figure, tree, flower, bird, grass,
insect, animal, fruit, and vegetable, etc.. Postscripts are attached to the
works, as well as inscriptions and original seals. |

Calligraphy
|
Displays calligraphic works which encompass the period from
Eastern Chin Dynasty to the end of Ch'ing Dynasty and modern era; all works are
paired with their Chinese prints. |

Buddhist Antique
|
Exhibits both Chinese and Tibetan series of Buddhist Antique
collections which include sculptures, ceremonial objects, sutras, votive
objects, and paintings, etc. Postscripts are attached to the works, as well as
inscriptions and original seals. |

Ceramics
|
Presents mainly fine Kuan wares from Ming and Ch'ing Dynasty. Others fine works
include Chang-Sha and Hsing wares from Tang Dynasty, Ting, Kuan, Lung-Chuan,
and Chun wares from Sung Dynasty, the blue-white porcelain from Sung, Yuan, and
Ming Dynasties. The seals and inscriptions are attached.

Jade
|
Shows jade wares made in the Neolithic Age, and fine antique-style works made in
Ch'ing Dynasty. The seals and inscriptions are attached.

Bronze
|
Displays primarily ceremonial objects, wine vessels, and
dining wares made in Shang and Chou dynaties, together with some bronze mirrors
made in Tang dynasty, and the bronze stoves from Sung dynasty. The inscriptions
are attached. |

Others
|
Exhibits a miscellaneous set of antique utensils such as
Japanese lacquers, stationery, tusk ware, bone ware, wood ware, and costumes,
etc. The seal inscriptions are attached.
